Blue Connect login process
In addition to entering your password, the Blue Connect login process now includes an extra verification step. This is an important measure to protect your private information by ensuring only you can access your account.
Enter your username and password
Enter your username and password at the Blue Connect login screen.
If you haven't already, you'll be asked to verify your email address. You'll only need to do this once.
Select how to verify your login
Next, you'll choose a method for verifying your login. This method will be used for all future logins.
Complete your login
You will verify your login by entering a security code or by using the biometrics on your device. Then you will be logged in to your Blue Connect account.
Ways to verify your login
Text message
Receive a text message that includes a security code.
Voice message
Receive an automated phone call from Blue Cross NC that includes a security code.
Biometrics
Use your fingerprint or facial recognition software on your device to log in.
Authenticator app
Receive a code via a smartphone app like Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.
Frequently asked questions
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an extra verification step that protects confidential information. By requiring two forms of authentication when logging in, we can ensure a higher level of security and confirm that only members can access their personal and confidential data.
Examples of using MFA include confirming your identity with a code sent via text or voice message and using an authenticator app, such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.
Authenticator apps are an extra layer of security for online accounts. They add a second step of verification when signing in. This means that in addition to a password, members also need to enter a security code that is generated by the app on their phone.
Free authenticator apps, such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator, can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store – depending on the type of phone used.
Members can use fingerprint or facial recognition software on devices, such as smartphones, to verify their login.
This is supported on iOS 16 or higher on iPhones and Android 13 or higher on most other smartphones. Some functions may not work with lower operating systems. For the best experience, please ensure your device is using a compatible version.
Follow these steps:
- Make sure the email did not go to the spam folder.
- Confirm the noreply@authmail.bcbsnc.com email address is not blocked, especially if accessing your Blue Connect℠ member portal from a workplace network.
- Request a new verification code by clicking "Resend Code" in Blue Connect.
