More than a script

More Than a Script is an innovative program developed by Blue Cross NC to help folks better manage their high blood pressure and diabetes. By enlisting pharmacists to help their customers understand these conditions and the medications to treat them, More Than a Script is having a positive impact on community health throughout the state, especially in rural areas.

In rural North Carolina, it can be really challenging to number one find a doctor, much less get to that Doctors appointment.

Most people see their pharmacist at least twelve times a year, they’re coming into the pharmacy every month to pick up their medications, so it’s a familiar face.

More than a script is a program that was developed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina to help patients better manage their high blood pressure and diabetes.

This program just gives us the opportunity to sit down with patients and answer their unique questions.

I can be there to help supplement what they’ve learned at the Doctor’s office. I have the time and ability to do it and I’m right down the street when them when they need to meet.

What I want them to understand is what changes they can make to live a healthier and more high quality life.
